Killefer Flammag Architects, Santa Monica, California, was faced with the challenge to convert a 1960’s manufacturing facility into a visually appealing haven for homeless and mentally ill men and women.

Killefer Flammag Architects dramatically enhanced the building exterior through the use of Astra-Glaze-SW+® glazed concrete masonry units to create an awe-inspiring visual.  Located at the gateway to Santa Monica, the Cloverfield Services Center building boasts a colorful exterior using banner red, coffee bean, peanut brittle, pebble and whitman white glazed units.  These festive units also provide perimeter wall protection and privacy for the residents.  Due of its outstanding design, the Cloverfield Services Center won the Westside Urban Prize Award “2007 Westside Urban Forum”.
